I just found the answer: A tag is a pointer to a commit , and commits exist independently of branches. It is important to understand that tags have no direct relationship with branches - they only ever identify a commit. |

I just found the answer:
A tag is a pointer to a commit , and commits exist independently of branches.
It is important to understand that tags have no direct relationship with branches - they only ever identify a commit.
