- hello guys! so im trying to develop a mobile app using react native that communicates with my web app using laravel as a framework, and im wondering what would be the best and easiest database to use.
It depends on your app needs. Relational database? Mysql, Postgresql. Documented-based? Mongo.
Probably the easiest would be to use a nodejs package for sqlite such as GitHub - mapbox/node-sqlite3: Asynchronous, non-blocking SQLite3 bindings for Node.js
If you have complex searches, connected tables (relations) and stuff, you should probably stick with a relational database like MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL or simliar ones.
If you have write-heavy use cases, you should probably choose a NoSQL database like MongoDB (document db) in conjunction with a object document mapper (ODM).
If you have very simple key / value cases, you can choose Redis.
SQLite can also be an option if you want to have a simple local db.
