Authentication failed when pushing commits to Github

Hi there, I cannot push commits anymore remotely to github, command-line says: Support for password authentication was removed on August 13, 2021. In July I have added a personal access token to my account as required by Github. A two-factor authentication has been set up and enabled but when the command line asks me for username and password, it is not working.
I have started web dev studies last year and I’m not super experienced!!
Many thanks for your help

You need to create a Personal Access Token and use that instead of your password for Git operations (push, fetch). The right scopes for the token are usually repo and workflow (the latter only if you use Actions).

Two-factor authentication is for logging in on the GitHub website.

Thanks for your help, all fixed now
