Allow re-uploading PGP keys when expiry date changed

Hi everyone,
I hope this is the right place to discuss improvement ideas for Github.

Today, I changed the expiry date on my PGP key and wanted to re-upload the key already known to Github and already used for signed commits. I noticed I had to delete the registered key (with the same fingerprint but a different expiry date) and create a new key.

It would be great if Github would allow re-uploading a public key when the expiry date changed and not block the upload because they have the same fingerprint.
This would create a more streamlined process and avoid clicking away on the scary key deletion warning.

Cheers!

As i know it doesn’t matter. You don’t need to re upload. You simply update your private key and sign your commit. It will not show expired
