Dark mode is a new color theme joining the classic GitHub light mode developers have been using for years. We’re excited that dark mode has (finally) arrived in a public beta.

During the public beta, dark mode is available to all GitHub users without the need to sign up or join a waitlist. To select your preferred theme, simply navigate to your profile settings, click on the new “Appearance” tab and choose between matching your system preferences, dark and light modes.

We welcome our community to openly share their feedback and report any issues or bugs they encounter during our beta period as a new topic in this category.
