I have been toying around with Linux and now decided to try to switch full time.
However, I can’t seen to get my wifi USB stick to work. As you can see below, the lsusb can see the NetGear A7000; but it will not ‘turn on’. meaning no lights and no option for wifi. I went to a second hand store and bough the Realtek RTL8191SU Lan adapter for $2usd. That was a plug’n play. No complications.
After going through github for a bit, i tried the rosanewreddog/netgear-A7000-wifi-usb3.0-adapter. the Orange Hacking-Cyber Security/Netgear-A7000-driver; and the Willg280 / A7000-Wifi-Driver.
I followed the ‘read me’ file on each one and followed it to the ‘T’. still no luck.
let me know what y’all think i should try. Again, I am still new to this platform and will need to be guided (if you are asking to post something, please spell out ‘how’). In my directory, all three above is in my dkms folder and my ‘home’ folder.
